Genetic modification of humans

Hi welcome back. This week of PBL we had to choose a situation that might happen in the future and me and a few friends chose designer babies. You might be thinking what designer babies are. Well designer babies is when the baby is still in the mothers stomach the parents are able to choose what there child will be like in the future and to them there perfect dream child. Doing this the child will have no life of there own they would only follow what there parents chose for them. Here is what me and some friends did some research to help people not Design there babies.
We are arguing against Designer Babies becoming a thing because
Cons
You shouldn’t be controlling what your child will be like when they grow up. you want them to have their own personalities.

 If you put certain genetics together they might create something bad and not to your liking.

It can cause Shorter life span disabilities or low immune system.

If you do this all the time some of the genetics could be cut out of the victim/human for good.

It could make new diseases and could spread them and they could have a genetic ability that could case disability sickness and even death in that children that will be blood relation of that family in the future or them being unable to close and this would be unfair to them.
Here are some points about why you shouldn't and what would happen.

It could potentially kill or hurt the host that carries the baby (The mother) and the baby as well

There are laws against this in more than 40 countries

It is still being tested and it is not confirmed that it is safe to use.

It can be extremely pricey above as dangerous

In this happening if you were able to choose what your child acted like when they are older somewhere in the world they might have a twin that acts the same because of their mother.
Pros
Your child might act better
You can get rid of any bad things that could happen to them because of genetics
 there own babies.

If you are a child reading this make sure not to do this to your future child do you want your child to have a mind of there own or do you want to control them. Let your child have there own life just like you.

PBL Term 3 2019

Welcome back to my blog. This term our PBL Question is "What will the future ask of us".

We talked about this Question in my class and we discussed about what would the world be like in over 2000 years. One of the main things we talked about was Robots. Yes we talked about what Robots would do in the future. We also discussed about what jobs would still be around in the future. Some Jobs are already been taken by Robots one of these examples is the people that organised the recycling. The sad thing is most people that are working on this job have disabilities. They liked the job because they kept on doing the same things everyday witch was a good job for them. But sadly these people are forced to find another job because of Robots. We had a talk about why people want Robots instead of Humans and this is what we found.

Robots don't need to be payed witch means more money for the person who owns the Robot. Robots don't get I tired and are not lazy. They are never late for work and are always on task and do the work 4 times faster. I watched a video about a Robot called Sofia. She is a human Robot and she travels around the world asking everyone around the world and when she does this she gathers information throughout the years witch I think is pretty cool. There is a Video of her singing with Jimmy Fallen " Say Something". I am really exited for this Terms new PBL Question and can't wait for what else this term will bring us.

After PBL (Project Base Learning)

Hi this is now after my PBL performance where we shared what we have been working on for this term and out driving Question was. "How can we speak up against Discrimination". We had to show our working in a many different ways such as doing a drama/play, Podcast, a talk and poetry slam. Those were our options and I chose to do a podcast where we could pre-record it and play it live on you tube. Here is my link.

My Diana Issac Experience.

Hello welcome to my blog I am going to be sharing with you today about my experience at the Diana Issac Rest home. If you don't know what a rest home is I will tell you. A rest home is a place where old people/ Retired people above the age of 65 go to live the rest of there life there. My school organised a visit to the Diana Issac rest home. We could go to do multiple activities that we could choose from such as Balloon Sports, Baking, The Arts, and showing them our digital activities. I chose baking and surprisingly I was on the same trip as my Friend Isabella. We were so extincted. It was closer then I thought it was just around the corner so we were able to walk there. As I looked around I was so en pressed by the qualities of the buildings there were even little houses for everyone it looked like a huge neighborhood. Then we walked into a huge building and on the first floor to the left we saw there was a candy/food room where they could buy food to eat. Then there was a massage room. And many more. Then when we came to the last room at the end was like a living room. We surrounded this huge table and invited the elders to come and join in. Then we started. We started mixing adding and rolling them into balls and spread them out. As we waited for the biscuits the bake we started to talk with the elders and we learned what school they use to go to what they did during the day and there family. Once they were finally done we shared them all around and when we had done it was time to leave. It was I fun experience and I can't wait to do it again.
